Common questions

How do I create a note?

Open a regular web page and click the Floating Notes icon in the Chrome toolbar. If the icon is hidden, pin the extension. See the quick start guide for a walkthrough.

Why does a note not open on this page?

Chrome does not let extensions add notes to some protected pages, including Chrome settings and the Chrome Web Store. Try a regular website instead.

How do I back up my notes or sync them?

On the notes page, choose Export → Export as JSON to download a backup. JSON export is available on every plan. Trash has a separate JSON export. For Google Drive setup, see the sync guide.

If sync asks you to reconnect, open Account & plan and reconnect the same Google account. If Drive is full, free some Drive space and retry. If its folder is missing, review the local notes and explicitly recreate the sync folder. An account mismatch keeps the library local: return to its original account, or export your notes before using a different browser profile.

Pausing sync, signing out or losing Pro keeps local notes, Trash and previous text. Use Previous text to recover the last saved body and Trash to restore deleted notes. Concurrent edits can appear as separate recovery copies. During initial sync, keep the browser running until the status confirms completion; locally available notes remain editable.

How do I upgrade or cancel my subscription?

To buy Pro, open Account & plan inside the extension. Purchases are made there, not on this website. To cancel a subscription, view invoices or update your payment method, use the avatar menu → Manage billing. This remains available after paid access ends.

Canceling renewal keeps paid access until the end of the period already paid for. Uninstalling the extension does not cancel a subscription. Lifetime is a one-time purchase with no recurring renewal.

How do I access Pro on another device?

Sign in with Google using the same email address as at checkout. Your purchased plan belongs to that account; there is no separate restore-purchase step. Moving your notes is separate: use a JSON backup or Google Drive sync.

Pro did not switch on after payment. What should I do?

First check that you are signed in with the Google email used at checkout. Then open Account & plan and choose Check status if a payment is pending. Confirmation may be delayed. Closing checkout, reaching a return page or canceling waiting does not confirm or cancel a payment. Check the existing payment before starting another; if its status remains unclear, contact support with the receipt or payment reference.

How do I request a refund?

Use Contact support above and include your checkout email and receipt or payment reference.

See our Refund Policy for the refund period and process.

The extension cannot reach our servers

Notes always work offline: they are stored in your browser and never require a network. If the account screen reports that our servers are unreachable from your network or region, notes and every free feature keep working; sign-in and plan changes resume once access is restored.

What still works

Everything that lives in your browser: creating and editing notes, stacks, search, the notes page, the floating window, links, and JSON export. Paid capabilities follow the plan already cached on this device and are not switched off because a network is filtered - the extension keeps honouring what it last confirmed, and that answer expires on its own schedule, not on this one.

Unavailable while the account service cannot be reached: signing in, starting a purchase, and opening billing management. Those need our servers, and there is no local substitute for them.

How to check again

Open Account & plan - from the account area of the notes page, from the note settings popup, or from the extension menu. That screen states the reason and offers Check again, which re-runs the check immediately instead of waiting. The extension does not poll in the background: it checks when you ask it to, when you come back to a tab, or when the browser reports that the network returned.

Reasons differ. "Unavailable on this network" means the request never reached us - routing, DNS, TLS or a filter along the way. "Temporarily unavailable" means we answered but the service behind it is not ready. Neither is a statement about your country, and neither changes what you have paid for.

An unfinished payment is not a canceled payment

If a purchase was already started, the attempt is kept. An unreachable account service neither confirms nor cancels it: the waiting screen simply stops promising an imminent answer. Cancel waiting stops the extension from watching that attempt, and it only succeeds when our server acknowledges it - so if the server cannot be reached, the attempt stays and the extension says so rather than pretending it was canceled. Money moves only through the payment provider; nothing on this page or in the extension refunds or charges anything.

When access is restored, open Account & plan again: the extension re-reads your plan and the status of that attempt before offering any purchase, so a confirmed payment is never charged twice.

If this page did not open either

Then the explanation is already in the extension: the same reason and the same Check again button are on the Account & plan screen and work without any network. This page is a convenience, not a requirement, and we cannot guarantee that any particular domain is reachable from a given network.
